Spark was officially released in Speedway convenience gas station stores in the United States on August 3rd, 2020, for a limited time, only in 20-ounce bottles. ![]() It remained in Speedway stores until October 2020. In May 2021, in a now-deleted r/MountainDew Reddit post, a user posted an image of two Dew flavors, featuring Uproar and Spark, stating that there was plans to release them at some point in the year. On July 21st, 2021, in a r/MountainDew Reddit post, a Reddit user named "aa1718293" posted about Spark being released in his local Speedway. This was the first confirmed sighting of Spark, with further sightings appearing after. It was officially released in Speedway convenience gas station stores in the United States in Early-August 2021, for a limited time, only in 20-ounce bottles. It was sold in Speedway stores until October 2021. On September 12th, 2021, redesigns of multiple renders as well as test bottles were discovered and reported on the Dew Drinker Discord. This discovery indicated that Spark and a zero sugar variant were getting re-released eventually as a permanent flavor.Īs of this release, Spark is no longer exclusive to Speedway and available at most vendors. The two 20 limited-time runs are similar to how LiveWire was released as a permanent flavor after two limited-time runs. ![]() In late December 2021, several fans found Spark in varying sizes of amounts including 20-ounce bottles, 6-packs of 16.9-ounce bottles, and 12-packs of 12-ounce cans in the United States, confirming the rumors of an early 2022 release. Spark Zero Sugar is also available for the first time in sizes including 20-ounce bottles and 12-packs. Spark Zero Sugar's design is much like regular Spark with the exception of using black as a background color (similar to the other Zero Sugar flavors), simulating nighttime at the racetrack.Īt some point in 2021, CORporate Kosher released a spreadsheet showing a list of all soft drinks that are certified Kosher in Canada. Among this list was Mountain Dew Spark, suggesting its potential to release in Canada. It is worth noting, however, that this list features many long-discontinued Mountain Dew flavors, such as White Out, suggesting that the list may not be accurate. On January 17th, 2022, Spark was spotted by a consumer at Circle K and reported their findings on the Dew Drinker Discord, indicating that an announcement for a Canadian Release was coming soon. This flavor is potentially the second time a Dew flavor used to be exclusive to a store for years, then released permanently outside of the said store.This flavor is the first flavor exclusive to a franchise only for a limited time and not permanently like Frost Bite at Walmart.On January 18th, 2022, Mountain Dew Canada revealed to consumers via Instagram that Spark was set to release in Canada as an exclusive flavor to Circle K for a limited time beginning the following week, and that Spark would launch nationally in Canada on February 20th. Spark is one of two Dew flavors to be permanent after a couple of limited time runs, not counting nationwide DEWmocracies.The first instance was Baja Blast's release in Canada, where it is now a permanent flavor.
